Reforestation is not a gesture. It’s a commitment to the planet. Since 2022, the team at alsico Madagascar has taken direct action to support biodiversity and restore degraded land through a yearly reforestation day.

This initiative reflects a broader sustainability vision grounded in responsibility, long-term thinking, and a clear respect for the natural systems that make life possible.

what started as one day is now a yearly reforestation mission

This year, 750 employees came together at Ampangabe Ambohitrimanjaka, 25 kilometers from Antananarivo, to plant 6,400 trees across two hectares. Nine species were selected for their ecological value and adaptability — among them Acacia, Freine, Jacaranda, Dodonia, Pinus, Eucalyptus, and Fleming Moringa.

The results speak for themselves. The collective energy of our teams, from preparation to planting, transforms this annual event into a real force for environmental restoration. But the purpose reaches further. It’s about reconnecting with the land, learning from local biodiversity, and showing that a company can operate within planetary limits, not outside them.

"We choose to act every year not because we have to, but because we believe it matters. Any industry that relies on people should help protect the world we live in."
