Discovering the future of workwear: Deputy Prime Minister Vincent Van Peteghem visits alsico
What does the future of workwear look like? On the 16th of September, we had the opportunity to show it. We welcomed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Budget Vincent Van Peteghem to our headquarters in Ronse for a look behind the scenes at alsico and an open exchange on the challenges and opportunities facing our company and industry.
Where the next generation of workwear takes shape
A key stop during the visit was our new laboratories, where our teams test, analyse and develop the fabrics and garments of tomorrow.
Having this technical expertise in-house allows us to keep challenging what workwear can do: improving protection and comfort, testing new materials and turning ideas into solutions that perform in the real world.

Working towards a more circular future
But creating better workwear is only part of the story. We also showed Minister Van Peteghem our arx garment collector, where end-of-life garments return to alsico to be sorted, then sent to our recycling partners and turned into new raw materials.
Through our arx initiative, we are working to keep garments and materials in use for longer and turn end-of-life workwear into a resource for what comes next. It is another step towards our ambition of creating a more circular future for the workwear industry.
From developing and testing new solutions in our labs to taking garments back at the end of their working life, the visit offered a snapshot of how alsico continues to invest in innovation and circularity.
