  • EN ISO 1149/5: the Kibo garments can safely dissipate static electricity to avoid sparks that could ignate flammable substances.
  • EN ISO 11611 class 1: the Kibo garments provide protection against certain welding techniques and situations, such as protection from spatter and brief contact with flames.
  • EN ISO 11612 A1; B1; C1; D0; E1; F1: the Kibo garments protect against heat and flames, it includes various levels of protection for different types of heat exposure (e.g., radiant, convective and contact heat).
  • EN ISO 61482 elim 8,9, APC1: the Kibo garments provide arc flash protection, which ensures the clothing can withstand the thermal energy released during an arc flash.
  • EN ISO 13034: Kibo garments offer limited protection against liquid chemicals. It is intended for situations where there is a potential risk of chemical splashes, but the risk is low. This standard ensures that the garments provide a barrier to specific chemical hazards, offering basic protection against exposure to small quantities of liquid chemicals under light spraying or low-pressure conditions.

Currently, core-wrapped elastane is our preferred choice because it is the best option available.

The limitations of the ALSIFLEX-technology in terms of thermal stability make it less suitable for multi-risk and fire-retardant fabrics. Core-wrapped elastane addresses these issues effectivily, making this the preferred choice at this moment for such high performance applications.

The reason is that the ALSIFLEX technology provides mechanical stretch, which cannot be core wrapped while maintaining the same level of stretch. If we were to core-wrap this mechanical stretch technology, the fibers would lose their ability to stretch and recover, as the surrounding fibers would restrict their movement.

The combination of polyamide and para-aramid fibers significantly boosts the strength and durability of the fabric. Polyamide contributes by offering high tensile strength, allowing the fabric to endure considerable stretching and pulling without tearing. Para-aramid fibers add further strength with their exceptional tensile properties and ability to withstand high temperatures. They are also highly resistant to abrasion and tearing, which prolongs the lifespan of products incorporating these fibers. In addition, the Ripstop construction reinforces the fabric by integrating thicker threads at regular intervals, creating a grid-like structure. This design evenly distributes stress across the fabric, preventing tears from spreading beyond the reinforced areas. The result is a fabric with enhanced tensile strength and abrasion resistance, providing increased robustness and longevity.
