These issues are only getting more serious, and we don't expect the situation with this material to improve. This is where we saw an opportunity to use expertise and resources to innovate.

For this innovation, it was important to develop a solution that was as performant as Hypalon, but also with a much better control over price and lead times.

Switching to Alsiwaffle^® is actually a step up in terms of durabilty. Difference in weight between the two is minimal. More importantly, Alsiwaffle^® claims a better tear strength and achieves the maximum abrasion cycles possible. 

For the wearer Alsiwaffle^® offers a better grip and can even pass the ‘EN ISO 13287’ for Personal protective equipment - footwear. Finally, just like the Hypalon, it is water and oil resistant. 

how long does it last ? 

The end of life validation really depends from case to case. The amount of cycles it can last will depend on its use. Sometimes it is used for wearing all day, other times for walking between two areas, sometimes it's sterilized, sometimes washed. What best represents the durability of the product is the ‘tensile strenght’ & ‘abrasion’ result.
