Shortlisted for Made In The North West Awards

We’re proud to announce that we’ve recently been shortlisted for not one, but two awards at the Insider Media Made in the North West Awards 2026. It’s an exciting moment for the alsico team and a great opportunity to celebrate the work happening across our business.

Insider’s Made in the North West Awards celebrate manufacturing businesses across the North West that are leading the way in innovation, exporting globally and nurturing the next generation of talent. Being shortlisted for these awards recognises both our continued strength as a manufacturer and the progress we’re making towards becoming a more responsible and circular business.

Our shortlisting for Sustainable/Ethical Manufacturer of the Year reflects the work our teams are continually doing behind the scenes across key areas, including:

ALSIFLEX technology

Our innovative stretch fabric eliminates the need for elastane, making it fully recyclable while reducing CO₂ emissions by 66% compared with conventional workwear. The technology delivers durability, freedom of movement and long-lasting comfort, while significantly reducing environmental impact.

Closed-loop recycling

Through our 3CL initiative, we’re developing a closed-loop recycling process that transforms end-of-life alsico garments into high-quality recycled polyester. Enabling the development of our first fabric and garment made using our own textile waste, marking an important step towards fully recyclable, closed-loop workwear.

End of life

We launched ARX, our group-wide initiative covering care, repair, rework and recycling, designed to support a circular economy for workwear. Customers can return end-of-life garments for repair, refurbishment, donation or recycling. This includes legacy garments when transitioning to alsico as a new supplier.

Better Cotton

Working with our strategic fabric partners, we transitioned our standard cotton fabric bases to Better Cotton. This change supports more responsibly sourced cotton and greater transparency within our supply chain, helping to reduce environmental impact while maintaining product performance and consistency.

Our ambition is a fully circular supply chain, where alsico garments are collected, recycled and returned to production through validated standards, collaboration and closed-loop sourcing.

Our journey to closed loop

Alsico is driven to find solutions that not only protect the workers of the world, but also the planet we live on. As a global brand, we are acutely aware of our responsibilities and work tirelessly to tackle the most challenging sustainability demands. Our goal is to achieve 90% preferred fibres by 2040, and we have recently taken our first major step towards this, launching our innovative circular garment made using 65% recycled polyester created from our own end-of-life garments.

Our recently published ESG Report provides a transparent account of that journey, sharing the progress made across the alsico group during 2025, alongside the work still ahead as we continue developing a more responsible and circular approach to workwear.
