Minimising contamination during lyophilizer operations
Human interaction remains one of the primary sources of microbiological contamination risk in cleanrooms. The pharmaceutical manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) is no exception. During the brief moments when the product is exposed, controlling contamination originating from personnel is critical.
With this challenge in mind, Bioquim has taken a significant step forward to strengthen contamination control during one of the most critical operations: the loading and unloading of trays containing exposed product in the lyophilizers.

Cyclop® supports safer aseptic behaviour
Bioquim selected Cyclop®, alsico's integrated cleanroom garment system, to further reduce contamination risks while improving operator comfort.
Several design features directly support aseptic performance:
- panoramic goggles minimise fogging and eliminate the need for operators to touch or reposition eye protection
- the bottom fastening system reduces the risk of contaminating the front of the garment, the area closest to the exposed product
- improved visibility and comfort enable more precise handling during critical operations
Because Bioquim's operators were already highly trained in aseptic techniques, the transition to Cyclop® was rapid and straightforward.
